Privacy Notice
The short version. The inquiry form on this website does not send anything to this website. It opens your own email program with a message already written, and nothing reaches us unless you press send yourself. We hold no database, set no cookies and run no tracking of any kind.
1. Who we are
Jorge’s Portrait Studio is a family-owned photography studio at 35 P. Tuazon Blvd, Cubao, Quezon City 1111, Metro Manila, Philippines, operating since 1981. Under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) we are the Personal Information Controller for the personal data described in this notice.
Questions about this notice, or about your personal data, go to jorgeportraitstudio3@gmail.com or +63 956 591 8971.
2. What the inquiry form collects
The form asks for four things:
- Your name — so we know who we are replying to.
- Your email address — so we can reply.
- What you would like photographed — family portrait, wedding, event, headshot, or something else.
- Your message — whatever details you choose to give us.
Nothing else is collected. There are no hidden fields. We do not ask for your address, your birthday, any government identification number, or any payment details, and we would ask you not to put information of that kind into the message box.
3. How the form actually works
This matters, so it gets its own section. When you press Send inquiry, the website does not transmit your details anywhere. It assembles what you typed into an ordinary email and opens it in whatever email program your device uses — Gmail, Outlook, Mail, whichever. You then see that message and decide whether to send it.
Three consequences follow, and all three are in your favour:
- If you close the email without sending, we never receive anything at all.
- There is no database behind this website. Your details are never stored on it, not even briefly.
- Your message travels through your own email provider, under whatever privacy terms you already have with them.
4. Why we use your information, and on what basis
We use what you send only to reply to you, to prepare a quote, and to arrange a session if you decide to book. We do not use it for anything else. We do not send newsletters or marketing email, and we do not sell, rent or share contact details with anyone for their own purposes.
Our lawful basis is your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form and sending the email, together with the steps necessary to enter into a contract with you at your request. You may withdraw consent at any time by writing to us, and withdrawal will not affect anything already done before you withdrew.
5. Who else may see your information
| Who | What they receive | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Google (Gmail) | Your email and its contents | Our studio mailbox is a Gmail account, so Google stores and processes messages sent to us. |
| Google Fonts | Your IP address, when the page loads | The page loads typefaces from Google’s servers. This happens on every visit, before you touch the form, and it is how web fonts work. Nothing you type is involved. |
| Your own email provider | Your message | Because the message is sent from your account, not ours. |
| Facebook, Instagram, Google Maps | Only that you clicked through | Links to these sites are ordinary links. Nothing is shared unless you click one, and from that point their privacy policies apply, not ours. |
We do not use analytics, advertising pixels, session recording, or any other tracking technology. If that ever changes, this notice will be updated before the change takes effect.
6. Cookies
This website sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.
7. How long we keep inquiries
Inquiry emails stay in our studio mailbox for up to two years from your last contact with us, so that we can find previous correspondence if you come back to us. If a session goes ahead, booking records are kept for as long as our tax and business record-keeping obligations require. You can ask us to delete your inquiry sooner, and we will unless we are legally required to keep it.
8. Photographs
Photographs of identifiable people are personal data, and for a portrait studio they are the most sensitive thing we handle. Session photographs are taken and used to fulfil your booking. We ask separately for your permission before showing any client photograph in our portfolio, in this website’s gallery, or on our social media, and you may refuse or withdraw that permission at any time without it affecting your booking.
9. Your rights under the Data Privacy Act
Republic Act No. 10173 gives you the following rights over your personal data:
- To be informed — to know that we hold your data and what we do with it.
- To access — to obtain a copy of what we hold about you.
- To object — to tell us to stop processing your data.
- To rectify — to have anything inaccurate corrected.
- To erasure or blocking — to have your data removed or withheld from further processing.
- To data portability — to receive your data in a usable electronic format.
- To damages — to be compensated for harm caused by misuse of your data.
- To complain — to bring a complaint to the National Privacy Commission.
To exercise any of these, email us at jorgeportraitstudio3@gmail.com. We will respond within a reasonable period, and we will not charge you for it. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, so that we do not hand your information to somebody else.
10. How we protect your information
Our studio mailbox is protected by a strong password and two-factor authentication, and access is limited to the family members who run the studio. Because this website holds no personal data at all, there is no database here to breach. Should a security incident affecting personal data ever occur, we will notify the affected individuals and the National Privacy Commission as the law requires.
11. Children
We photograph children regularly, and we do so only with a parent or guardian present and consenting. The inquiry form on this website is meant for adults. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to contact us on your behalf.
12. Changes to this notice
If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and change the effective date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the home page.
13. Complaints
Please come to us first — most concerns are quickest to resolve directly. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the National Privacy Commission, 5th Floor Delegation Building, PICC Complex, Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City 1307, or through privacy.gov.ph.
